So during church today, well almost everyday at some point I realize how lucky I am. I'm so grateful for so many things. But one of the thoughts that came into my head during the sermon today was how grateful I am to those around me. Those who help me in my everyday life, and those who I don't even know but offer and lending hand. Its been amazing to see how people in our community around us lend a helping hand.
This year has been a major struggle. Some days are still a struggle, but my life has been blessed by so many people!
I am so grateful for the people around me, not just the people who help out everyday but for those whom I don't even know and care enough to lend a helping hand when times are tough (mostly talking about when I'm at the grocery store and someone will help take my basket away or help carry packages while I'm busy with my daughter). Its amazing how community works!
So I took notes during sermon today....and these were my immediate thoughts...
I am consumed by hope and gratitude for those that help me.
I am continually amazed by the outreach and support by those, not just friends, but complete strangers in our community who selflessly give their time to help me out (and I'm sure others too) with my daughter. I could not be more amazed or grateful. Everyone who enters our lives, helps, even in some little way, helping to raise our beautiful, wonderful daughter, and that truly means the world to me. God is there. God loves us all and I see it everyday . Its amazing.
This is a blog about our family. Mostly about our daughters adventure into the world and now her experience in the world and about her growing up.

Sweet Adorable Girl
I have a niece. She is 6 weeks younger than Ava. She is adorable and sweet! She loves to smile, laugh and play and of course beat up her brother who is equally as adorable!
Two weeks ago my 11 month old niece was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Millions of children have this life altering disease, but they are getting close to a cure!! Please help me raise money to help my niece and others like her. If I can get 12 people to donate $11.50, I will be able to reach my goal! I know that times are tough, but its for a good cause. I have never known such a small person to get diabetes, she is such a trooper, and a fighter. She is still sweet, loving and goes on each day as if nothing has changed. Lets help find a cure so she will no longer need to be pricked with needles several times a day!
If you can help get above and beyond my goal to at least $200; each person who donates will receive a box of 8 personalized Thank You cards and envelopes.
Please click on the link below to find out more and to donate to me, or anyone on my team!

Ava's First Camping Experience
So Ava and I went camping the weekend before last! Ava's first camping experience! Wahoo! It was so awesome! Saturday morning I helped out with a garage sale. Ava and I finished up around 11am and Ava took a nap so we didn't get to pack the car until 1:00. At 1:30 I started heading to the camp site. We went to David Lake in California near Loyal ton California and Frenchman Lake. I got to the campground and began looking for the campsite...I drove around for an entire hour (that means about 10 laps through the campsite) looking for the campsite. Lo and behold I was at the wrong campsite! I had to go another mile down the road and I drove through each campground and finally found the campsite where everyone was at. I was super lucky.

Ava and I went with the Marko's and the other Wozniak's. I was so fortunate to be camping with such awesome people. Everyone helped out so much! They helped me watch Ava so I could bring stuff from the car, they helped set up my tent and blow up my air mattress. I couldn't have had a better camping experience!
So after all my stuff was set up (my air mattress, Ava's pac'n'play, the food out, bottles made. I got to visit with everyone. Then Phil came on his dirt bike. He walked down to the lake with us, watched everyone swim then we went back to camp and prepared dinner.

Phil stayed for a hot dog and left. We had kabobs! Wonderful yummy deliciousness! Meat, and veggies and BBQ pineapple. We quickly learned that Ava is allergic to pineapple. She broke out in hives all over her face.
Ava went to sleep pretty quickly.
I stayed up and visited. Around 9 or 9:30 we all went to sleep. I felt bad leaving Ava so exposed so I brought her to my air mattress with me. I had two sleeping bags zipped together. I stuck her inside with me so that I could attempt to keep her a little warmer. I woke up two or three times. She had been having nightmares before we went camping and she must have had another one on the camping trip. She screamed bloody murder in the middle of the night. But soon after I said "shhhh" and rubbed her head she seemed to quiet down. A had another nightmare but didn't scream quite as loud and then she attempted to roll off the bed. So I didn't sleep too well but I did sleep.

In the morning, Ava woke up next to me and since we didn't put the rain cover on we could see the trees right above us, Ava pointed up and said "ooooo". We had a cute little conversation. She seemed to really like camping.

We got up, and went out. Beck was already awake. So we got up and gathered pine cones and pine needles to start the fire. When everyone woke up Uncle Steve made breakfast, which was super awesome French Toast! It was so good! Everyone (except me and Ava) went kayaking.

I took pictures and walked Ava along the water and in the sand. She enjoyed it for the most part. Then we packed up the tents and the camp site and went on our merry way.

It was one of the best camping experiences of my life! I had so much fun! I had great people to camp with and I had so much help with Ava it helped so much. I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am for the awesome people that I have in my life!

12 Months
Almost two weeks after her party she began really walking, I mean, standing up on her own and attempting to walk. Although she still seems to think she can get places faster by crawling.

This week was really fun! On Wednesday we went to music night at Lazy 5 park with the Marko's! It was a blast! Ava had fun watching all the big kids run around.

Then on Friday night she got Daddy night, I had bunko so she spent the evening with Daddy hanging out.

Saturday was an eventful day. In the morning we watched Daddy fly (and wreck) his plane. Ava had fun walking on the dry lake bed. Her legs were so dirty and so were her clothes but she had fun. We got to go home and play out in front in the water. Ava liked that.

Then in the afternoon, we were generously invited to an Aces Game! Our first one ever! I'm not a big fan of baseball but it was so much fun! We had a blast watching all the people, listening to the music, and Ava clapped for the baseball players. Each time they hit a ball, she would clap (I guess she didn't have a favorite team). She screamed any time the players walked by. And she even has a boyfriend! He was cuddling with her all night, they were touching each others faces and touching hands. LOL It was funny.

Today we got to hang out with our friend Cheryl and Ava's buddy Addison. It was fun. Ava was kind of crabby because of her teeth (I think she's getting at least 3 or 4 more). And she hasn't eaten. Oh well. We had fun hanging out with Cheryl and Addison.

One Year Check Up!
Ava had her one year check up on Wednesday July 28, 2010. Her appointment went really really well. She is gaining weight! Steadily, she is making her way to the chart but isn't quite on the chart yet. She weighed in at 15 lbs 4.5 oz. She is 27 inches! So she is actually on the chart for length. She is between 5-10%. Thats pretty good!
Ava carries on conversations
Phil was walking out the room
Ava "where you go?"
Phil "what did she just say?"
Kelly "she asked you where you were going"
Phil "Oh, I'm going to the living room"
Ava "ok"
Ava also started walking this weekend, not just a few steps!
Several times Ava took 8 steps or more.
Today she actually started standing up on her own today. She even stood up and started taking a few steps on her own after a few tries of standing up by herself.
Today she was such a happy little girl. Giggling.
She ate so much today
This morning she had Bologna, cheese and bread
Then when she woke up from her nap she ate 1/4 nectarine, cheese, yogurt, two wagon wheels.
This afternoon she had 1/4 nectarine, 1/4 avocado, salmon, hot dog, two wagon wheels, yogurt melts, cheese puffs, then had two more wagon wheels, two mumm mumms.
And Ava is finally starting to chunk up! Maybe she will actually wear 6/9 month clothes before the summer is over!
We are so happy with Ava!
