I decided to move my blog. Not everyone has a myspace account, I haven't figured out how to post blogs on facebook and I don't have a lot of time to send out a mass email each time something new comes up. So here it is. My new blog, which everyone can see.
This week I am 13 weeks pregnant. I have to say, looking back on the first trimester, I've had a wonderful pregnancy. I love that I never got morning sickness (except for a few times where I just needed some food), except for the cramping at the beginning which was more worry-some than painful, my pregnancy has been a wonderful experience. And this last week has really opened my eyes to the entire expereince.
Wednesday was the day of my genetic testing. They tested for abnormalities in the spine and they did a blood test on me to make sure that we will not be having a child with abornmalities. Although it doesn't test for ALL abornmalities it tests for important ones like down syndrome. I know I'm young, and that doesn't run in my family or Phil's family, but Phil wanted to make sure everything is good with our little one. Besides the actual testing, I'm really glad I went to the appointment. I got to sit on a table and in front of me on a 37" TV screen we got to see the entire Ultrasound experience. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. And my parents (being first time grandparents) got to sit in there with me! Phil wasn't able to go due to his work schedule. But they allowed me to buy a DVD so they could record the entire experience.
The appointment was amazing. They did the testing of the spine, but then the technician did an informal check of the baby. We got to see the brain, the heart, we got to hear the heart beat for the first time (which was really exciting!!!), see the legs, stomach, feet, arms, fingers. It has all of its parts. Nothing looks abormal, so the technician says.
Its really fun. I can't feel the baby moving yet. And I don't know its sex yet. Most of me feels like its going to be a boy, but whenever I go to the doctors and see pictures of it, I think it will be a girl for some reason. I'm not sure anymore. I was pretty sure it was going to be a boy, but I'm not certain anymore.
This week has also been amazing because my appetite increased. I've also started showing! And we went on our last get away this weekend. We went to Sacramento and hung out. It was fun.
