From the beginning I thought it was going to be a boy. I didn't think Wozniak's made very many girls. And with Phil having three brothers and Steve and Billie had a little boy. So I was sure that I was too! We've picked out boy names but thats about the extent of it.
So today we went to the ultrasound appointment. Phil was great and made it to the appointment! I wasn't sure I wanted to find out what it was...but if Phil was going to find out, I thought, I better find out too because I would find out eventually. So the technician started and we looked at the head and everything measured our pretty well. We looked the stomach and feet and legs and arms. All of the sudden the technician said....ITS A GIRL!!!! I couldn't believe my ears. I couldn't even focus the rest of the ultrasound. I was expecting her to tell us that it was a boy. All I could think of is...we don't even have any names picked out for a girl! I was so shocked.
After my last ultrasound (which they recorded on DVD) I had a feeling that it was a girl but at that point I thought I for sure it was just wishful thinking. Although I shouldn't have even bothered with the chinese conception chart or those fun gender determining quizes on line (they all said a boy)..it made me more intent to believe that it was a boy. It was only this week that I actually had a dream where the gender of the baby was exposed. I have had three dreams total with babies in them. One of them the baby was wrapped in a white blanket, the other the baby was in a red outfit (red can go either way in my book).
This week I had a dream that Phil and I went in for the ultrasound. I was laying on the table. For some reason I hooked a phone up (like a house phone) probably because of Phil working from home, and I took a call just as the doctor came in. I was laying on the bed. the monitor was facing me and the doctor stood at one side of the table and Phil was sitting by the door (so he could not see the monitor) and the door to the office was wide open. All of the sudden the baby popped up on the screen and I knew immediately that it was a girl. I knew before Phil (in my dream) the gender. That was my dream.
I still am shocked that its a girl. I'm really excited. I can actually start to buy bows and frilly things. And I'm going to take tons of pictures of her. I just know it!
We are both excited to have found out the gender of our child. It sort of gives us direction. I don't think it will change too much but at least we know.
This is a blog about our family. Mostly about our daughters adventure into the world and now her experience in the world and about her growing up.

18/19 Weeks!

It has been very very busy at work the last two weeks. This week was a short week due to the holiday on Monday (it was so nice to have a three day weekend!). Tuesday there was a full day of training at work. The rest of the week my boss was in and out of the office due to some personal issues.
This week Phil started his new job. He was laid off a couple of weeks ago. He started going full swing at his new job this week. I'm excited for him. He seems a lot less stressed and seems happier.
I started showing even more this week. People at work had asked me before if I was pregnant but they really said something after Thursday. I can only wear pregnancy shirts now. I no longer fit in my regular shirts or pre-pregnancy shirts.
Its only Saturday but it has been a busy weekend so far! Phil and I started out our morning by going to our favorite place to eat called the Southside Cafe. We dropped some stuff off at Phil's new wherehouse. Then washed Phil's car and stopped by my parents house for a few minutes. Phil went home and I stayed to help my mom with a quilt that she was making and was due back in the store by 3pm. Then we went back to my parents house and visited for a while. I went home finised laundry, cleaned out the office, filed papers, and went through some boxes and got rid of a lot of things.
I started feeling the baby kick a week or two ago but I can really feel it moving this week. It feels weird.
My next doctors appointment is on Thursday. We are supposed to find out the sex. I'm asking that Phil goes because I don't want to know! Phil really wants to find out. I kind of want to wait until the babys born to find out what we are having. Maybe I'll change my mind....

Week 16 Continued
I was going to try and keep the blog just about my pregnancy...but its only day two into this week and there has already been so much fun stuff thats happened!
Phil and I had such an awesome weekend. We haven't had such a great weekend in a very long time. Its weird, and I don't know why but it seems like we are more in love than ever! I didn't think it was possible. But thats where we stand, and I'm liking it!
Yesterday I have to say, wasn't such a great day. Sunday I caught a cold, or got a sinus infection, so I spent most of the day in bed. Yesterday I was contemplating staying home and getting better. It had snowed, but it looked like just a dusting so I got ready and jumped in my car and went on my way. Well I got about half way down the street before I realized that maybe it had rained before it snowed, I had lots of trouble making my brakes work. Not fun on a normal basis, and even more scary when you are carrying the child of your dreams in your womb.
I braved the rough roads and trucked on to work. Thinking it was only bad because we lived ona hill I decided to NOT take the freeway and take the back roads instead, they are supposed to put sand on them, they are highly traveled roads. Well...they are highly traveled. There were three accidents, and two detours. One of the detours, I got lost. It was through a neighborhood I was very unfamiliar with. My normal 30-35 minute drive to work took one and a half hours. I got to work at 8:45. My phone died. I couldn't call in. Apparently my boss decided to call my house and my cell phone...I wish I had charged my phone. Although thats not the end of my adventure. It snows more where I work. If it snows about an inch at our house it snows about 3 inches at work. So there was more ice on the raod near work. I take this road, Miliary Rd, it comes to a dead end. You have to turn right or left, if you go straight there is a curb and a vacant lot. Well my car didn't stop...I ran through the stop sign, and ran right into the curb.
Well I finally made it to work. All day I wished I had stayed home. I had an appointment at 4pm. I was going to surprise Phil and get a 3D ultrasound and find out the sex of our baby. Which is probably why I went to work. Well around 3pm I get in my car to head to my appointment and my voicemail beeps. I check it, and the tech lady didn't make it in. My appointment was cancelled. It was a very disappointing day. Over dinner with my parents, we all decided it would be better just to wait for my scheduled Ultrasound with my docotr in March. Its only a few weeks away.
Today was a little better than yesterday. I felt a little better. My nose didn't leak quite as much. But I still felt pretty awful. I also had this pain on my side which kind of worried me. Everything worries me. I've had a great pregnancy so far, but I'm concerned about EVERYTHING. So I made a doctors appointment. Luckily they had a spot open and I got in this afternoon. I found out I have a sinus infection. Unfortunately we didn't discover what the pain in my side was...the worst it could be is labor pain..but it doesn't come and go, its steady, the second thing it could be is Gallbladder...not sure what that is exactly, but its not good aparently.
So I took the rest of the day off and spent it in bed, which is where I'm at now. I hope the rest of this week gets better.
I have to say, that I have the best husband ever! He gets me whatever I need. He doesn't mind getting me food. He tells me I'm beautiful (even though most of the time I feel like I look like a foot), and says I'm the best wife ever. I'm lucky to have him in my life!

16 weeks and counting

I've made it to week 16! Wahoo! This has been a much better week. The dizziness has gone away. Work was busy but not over whelming. I've been inclined to do more thing which has been really fun.
Last weekend I had an incredible experience. I had my photo taken at this really great photographer's home. We are planning to do photos every month. I'm pretty excited. I'm also going to have her take pictures after the baby is born. I got the pictures back yesterday and they look amazing! It was a really fun experience. She is very awesome! I would recommend her to everyone who is pregnant, or has small children! Her name is Jennifer Lehrer www.lehrerphotography.com

Wednesday I also had another doctors appointment. It was just a check up, basically. I was able to hear the heart beat, which was really neat. I love hearing my baby's heart beat. I have only flet a flutter and tiny bubbles (the baby's movement) about three times so far. So it makes me feel good when I can hear the baby's heart beat. I had a lot of questions that the nurse was able to answer.
Last night I went to a Pampered Chef Party at my sister in laws house, which was really really fun. I'm going to have one in March.
Pregnancy is a lot of fun. I'm having a good time watching my belly grow. I'm just hoping that not a whole lot of other parts grow too. I hope its all belly. So far, thats what it looks like.
Students at school are starting to ask me if I'm pregnant (hopefully they don't think I'm just getting fat!). Its weird to be pregnant at work. Its a professional place. I feel sort of invaded when people stare at my stomach... I guess I sort of got myself in that predictament, but its weird to have people, co-workers, directors, managers, and even students looking at my belly. Its hard finding that fine line between professionalism and wanting to gush pregnancy talk all the time. But I think I'm working it out.
Its been a very good week so far.

15 weeks
This week was a really good week. I have been feeling much better. For about three days I haven't had dizziness anymore.
Yesterday was a great day. I found this great photographer online and yesterday we had our first photo session. It turned out really really well! I really liked her a lot! We did the session at her house. I'm looking forward to seeing what the pictures look like.
After I went to the photo session Phil and I picked up my parents and we drove up to Lake Tahoe. We went there to see where Phil might be working. Phil's last day at his job is this week. It took a very long time to go to Lake Tahoe and come back.
Then we came back to Reno/Sparks. We finally met our neighbors. They are very nice. I had a birthday party for a friend.
Today was absolutely beautiful! It was almost spring like! We got our taxes done and in the late afternoon I ended up going to visit a friend and we watched part of the super bowl. It was fun. It was a really great weekend. Its been a great week too. I am getting bigger. Friday I was giving a talk in a classroom and several students asked if I was pregnant. I guess I'm showing already. Its fun! I'm enjoying it.
