This has been a very interesting week. It started out on Sunday, I had a contraction. It was the scariest thing I've ever felt! Especially this early in my pregnancy. I stayed home on Monday (my birthday) because I still had that terrible cold that was going around. Phil was home sick as well, and so we both went to the doctor. Phil got medicine but since I'm pregnant I can't take anything. I had six contractions on Monday but not more than one in an hour. I decided to call my doctor. The nurse called me back and said to monitor them. If I had more than four in one hour that would be bad news and I would have to go to go the ER. Tuesday I went back to work. I had two more contractions one in the morning on the way to work, then one when I was going home. Wednesday was better and I went to work. I was still hoping that I was able to go to San Diego since I hadn't had any contractions since Tuesday, and they weren't real contractions.
Today, Thursday, I recieved a call, that I couldn't go. Since I had contractions at all I am now banned from travel. I was pretty bummed out this morning. I cried at work. It was so embarrassing. Good thing I have my own office and I can close my door. I was going to tell my boss that I wouldn't be going to San Diego and wasn't sure if I should my vacation time, but I broke down and cried in front of my boss. My boss is great. She suggested that I still use my vacation time. So Phil and I decided to go ahead and vacation here in town. I'm excited to have some time. I think I just need some time off.
This afternoon I made a doctors appointment per the suggestion of my nurse. Even though it was a short appointment it was good. I got to hear Ava's heart beat (we've decided on the name Ava for our daughter). She had hiccups! And I got to hear her turn over (as well as feel her turn over). That was worth it! I can now see Ava move all around. I can feel her, especially at night or in the morning. Its fun! I can't wait to meet her, but I want her to come out at the right time.
